Mark Cinque, MD

Fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon in San Diego

Mark Cinque, MD was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California, and completed his undergraduate education at The University of California Berkeley. During his undergraduate years, he worked at a researcher at Scripps Health in San Diego. After graduating from UC Berkeley, Dr. Cinque attended Georgetown University School of Medicine where he obtained a master’s degree in physiology and biophysics, and his medical degree. During medical school, he took a year to work at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado as a research coordinator and authored 80 peer-reviewed publications.

Following his time at Georgetown, Dr. Cinque pursued orthopedic residency training at Stanford University. During his time at Stanford, he was involved in covering and treating Stanford athletes across several sports. Dr. Cinque then returned to the Steadman Clinic to complete a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine, treating ordinary people as well as Olympic and professional athletes. During his time in Vail, he also traveled as a team doctor with the US Ski and Snowboard Team.

Dr. Cinque is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive, arthroscopic surgery of the knee, hip, and shoulder with a focus on returning every patient and athlete to an active lifestyle. Dr. Cinque works closely with a team of doctors, nurses, physical therapists and other medical professionals to ensure his patients have all the tools they need to recover quickly and fully.

An Active Personal Life

Outside of work, Dr. Cinque enjoys skiing, running, golfing, and spending time outside.
